Sweet Memories Scrapbooks Holiday Showcase

Tonight I joined Erin & Carolyn the owners of Sweet Memories Scrapbooks for their Holiday Showcase. They unveiled all the new cool, holiday products and they were serving refreshments and hot cocoa which was perfect for such a chilly night.
You might remember me blogging about a scrapbooking store back in February in an update called, “I’m moving to Houston.” It was about a scrapbook store that had the most gorgeous hot pink and black interior design. And me being the Interior Design queen I immediately fell in love with the design scheme and colors. I really wanted to go to Houston just to see this store in person.

Fast forward several months I walk into such a store. Only this one is better! WOW!!! What a visual feast of beauty. If you love hot pink and black chandeliers you are in for a treat! They’ve left no detail undone. They have anything your heart could possibly desire for scrapbooking and they also offer classes.
If you are nearby and have a chance to stop by I highly encourage you to pay them a visit. The address is 909 South Park Street, Suite B Carrollton, GA 30117 The phone # is: 770-832-7033. They have a blog so please be sure to check it out as well.

I will at the store on Saturday, December 6th from 10:00 to 6:00 for holiday portraits. Hope to see you there. Photobucket

Falling into Place

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and let ya know I’m alive and well. I’m officially married. It’s hard to believe we’ve been married almost a month now. 23 days to be exact. It actually seems like it has been a lot longer. Things are starting to fall into place.

The ceremony was a simple, but beautiful one. I’ll be blogging some of those pics and some from our engagement session as soon as I get the disks. I’m so happy with the ones that we’ve seen so far. Our good friends, Mike and Catherine did an amazing job. Other than telling them what family shots we wanted they did the rest by capturing the celebration as it unfolded. I can’t tell you what a peace of mind that was to just relax and let them do their thing.

This is a little glimpse of what I’ve been up to lately. Since the honeymoon life has been crazy. I’m still trying to get everything moved from my old house over to this one. When you merge two lives that have lots of stuff the one thing that I’ve found the most challenging is storage space. We also hit a little snag with our new wireless router. Trying to get two computers wired for Internet was a very frustrating ordeal. Sounds simple, but trust me it wasn’t!

Between moving, unpacking, and getting settled into the new place I’ve been busy marketing my photography business here in town. Speaking of photos…before we left for the honeymoon I got an e-mail from one of the managing editors over at Schmap.com asking if they could use a photo of mine on their 5th edition online map website. I was flattered, but a little hesitant at first. I'm very skeptical of things like this. So after lots of research I agreed to let them use the photo, thinking the exposure couldn't hurt. The photo was of the Hard Rock Cafe sign in Memphis, TN. Here is the link if you would like to check it out.

Going to the Chapel

Rain, rain go away. I’ve got big plans tomorrow, and I do mean BIG! I can’t believe in less than 24 hours I will be a married woman. A WIFE!!!! OMG! I’m getting married. MARRIED!!! EECCKKK!! Okay. Seriously, I think the neighbors heard that shriek. As I sit here soaking in the last few hours of my singlehood (is that a word?)... my thoughts are crystal clear and my heart is bursting with love. There are no questions. No reserves. No doubts. No hesitation. Just pure blissfully, sugary sweet love.

I remember watching an epidsode in the last season of SATC where Carrie was telling the russian she wanted love. Real love. Her words were:

I want Love, the kind of love that you can't stop thinking about . Real love. Ridiculous love. Inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each other-love.

A great line used in the show that has been echoed by millions of single women all across the world, including myself. I know I said them. Maybe not those exact same words, but something close. I said them, and I found it. LOVE. I’m so incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life, and I'm going to marry him tomorrow. I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with my best friend and my sexy, hot man and I couldn’t be happier!

Corporate Graduate!

Today I became a corporate graduate. Yep! It was my last day at work “in the corporate world” that is. I’m ready to start a new phase in my life and that involves many changes. BUT, Fall does represent change doesn’t it? And, isn’t the whole reason we leave corporate America is to find our true passion in life? Of course, two of my greatest passions are Jonathan and photography, and I’m going after them both with all my heart. Other changes in my life involve moving to a new town and lastly …earning two new titles in less time than it takes to say I do. I will becomnig a wife and a step-mom. Two titles that I’m a little worried about living up to. Will I be a good Wife & a step-mom? I don’t have the answer for that right now, but I do know that if you love something that much it leaves little room for failure.

A Perfect Day!

10:05: I wanted to paint.
10:30: I wanted to get out of the house and go see the movie, Nights in Rodanthe.
10:35: I had totally switched gears AGAIN and wanted to go to Octoberfest in Helen, GA or, to Burt’s Pumpkin Farm.

Sometimes I don’t see how Jonathan puts up with my indecisive moments of madness. But he does and I love him all the more for it. So, what did we do? We headed to North, GA to Burt’s Pumpkin Farm. As I mentioned in a previous post, I was hoping to take him there since he'd never been. On the way, I called my sweet girl, Lyndsay who only lives a few minutes from Ellijay, to see if she wanted spend the day with us. I took her to the pumpkin patch when she was a little girl, and called the pumpkins--punch-kins. It was so cute. We met up with her, had lunch and headed over to the Dahlonega for the afternoon.

When we got there it was insanely crowded. I’ve been going for many many years and I’ve never seen this many people before. Lyndsay is 14, and my 1st time out to Burt's was when she was 3 years old. This place has been around awhile, and word has definitely spread. Plus I forgot the Ellijay Apple Festival is going on too. Oh well! Despite the chaos we still had a great time. It was fun just getting away from Atlanta and spending some time with two of my favorite people, and taking in all the fresh, North, GA air and beautiful scenery. The weather was perfect and so was our day.

Look how big these pumpkins are! I swear they grow bigger every year. Some of these babies had to be over 100lbs.

I'm not sure what these pumpkins were called, but they were all warty like a witchs nose.

After we left Dahlonega we headed up to Blue Ridge. I wanted to show Jonathan the downtown area. So, we parked and walked around a bit. I couldn't resist this little sign that was in one of the store windows. I love the little pumpkin shadow. PhotobucketPhotobucket
Here's something you don't see anymore. I've wanted to get a picture of the old drive in sign for a long time, but I'm always in a hurry or, I forgot about it. It was built in 1949 and it's still active today. You can read more about it at: Swan Drive-In

Brent & Brandy = Wedding

Who: Brent & Brandi

What: Wedding

When: 09-27-2008

Where: Newnan, GA

I’m so excited to post these images of Brent & Brandi’s wedding. I was invited to 2nd shoot with the amazing Mark Turner of Turner Photography & Design. I have to admit this was the most beautiful ceremony I have ever witnessed. I’m not one to get misty eyed at weddings, but this one deeply touched me. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m sensitive to the fact my own wedding is rapidly approaching or, if it was just truly that emotional. As I looked around the church I realized I wasn’t alone in my tears of happiness.

When I shot this next image, I was envisioning it black and white with just enough light to highlight her the bride's face and shoudlers. I submitted it to Digital Image Cafe, and called it: Beautiful Bride and it was chosen as Pic of the Day on 10-02-08

The next two images are my favorites. A special moment between sisters.

Gotta love the polka dot heels!

I love this image of the 1st Father/Daughter dance. They both were struggling to fight back tears.

Brent & Brandi are both huge GA fans. GA was playing AL that night.

This was before the game!

The final score was GA (30) AL (41) Looks like GA got whipped and so did this cake!

Mark, thank you for allowing me to spend the day with you, and such a beautiful couple!
Congratulations Brent & Brandi!
